The Roman Tower has opened as a museum, open to the public and is still one of the main gates through to the bustling city centre. The Gardens are a riot of colour and beauty throughout the year, but especially in the spring and summe. It is lovely to take this route from Magnolia Housethrough to the city, relaxing and watching the punts go up the river.

There are plenty of places to stop and drink in the history of this ancient city, which is where Christianity first came to England.  Visit the  ancient ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey, and of course Canterbury Cathedral, home of the Anglican church.

Take a guided walk of the city or relax in a boat while you are rowed up the river and given a history of the buildings along the river banks. Take a break in one of the many tea or coffee bars and enjoy watching the world go by while taking in the sunshine. Then enjoy a sightseeing stroll and meal in one of the many excellent restaurants and bars before returning to the tranquillity of Magnolia House.
